ABOUT COUNSELLING

Children and Young People come to counselling for so many different reasons - struggling to manage anxiety and depression or struggling with life circumstances, family breakdowns, bereavement or friendship issues. At these times life can be overwhelming and we can feel stuck or lost and the anxiety can take over.
This can be so confusing, isolating and hard to manage alone. Sometimes children and young people need to be around someone external to the situation they find themselves in, someone who can listen without judgement and support them to navigate an understanding through the circumstances they're in.
It can feel like a very big step to visit a counsellor and through years of working as an in school counsellor I have built trusting relationships with children and young people where coming to counselling can feel like a positive experience and a safe space to explore difficult and challenging issues. My hope is that the therapeutic relationship we build can help realise your potential and appreciate the unique person you are.
